More than halfway around the world for The Fine & Country Foundation

Since 1 April 2022, the Fine & Country network have been clocking up the mileage in an attempt to accumulate a combined distance of 40,070 km, the circumference of the globe in 80 days. Participants have been walking, running, and cycling to add to the mileage while raising funds for the Fine & Country Foundation. Having reached just over the halfway point of the challenge, the network has already covered a distance of 32,012 km, which equates to around 79% of the target distance or a trip from the UK to Australia and back. While many have already reached their pledged distances, they are continuing to push on to raise as much money for The Foundation as possible.

“The more money we raise, the more charities we can support and the more people we can help,” says Jon Cooke, Trustee of The Fine & Country Foundation. “So far during 2022, The Foundation has awarded £87,687 to charities that work with those in need. This includes donations to the Ukraine appeal, ongoing regular office donations by agents within the network and the Grant programme. In the recent Spring Grant Programme, £31,752 was awarded to 16 charities both here in the UK as well as those in other parts of the world. With fundraising such as the 80 Days Around the World Challenge still in full swing, we are hoping that we will be able to hit over £100,000 in donations this year. However, this will not be possible with the help and generosity of the public and agents within in the network.”

A JustGiving page has been set up for the challenge to assist with fundraising.

“Through this challenge and other fundraising events, The Foundation is committed to supporting charities working to help those afflicted by homelessness and poverty.  Through the Spring and Autumn annual grant schemes, the organisation has been able to act as a lifeline for many charities, especially during a time when food and the cost of living has seen such a dramatic increase. Economically it is getting far more difficult for charities to survive and support the people they are trying to help. The Foundation will continue to try and support as many charities as possible to help make a difference where we can,” Cooke concludes.
